Whats up guys,
   I'm 27, have a stupid compTIA A+ certification, and at this point in life, i think i realize that i paid some tech school almost 14G to teach me basically an extended user manual of windows....and not much else. I got into the IT field because security very much excited my interest. Now more than ever we need white hats and black hats alike working together because america gets attacked by china and other forign bodies on a minute-ly basis. And the guys in Annonymous pretty much sealed the deal for me and IT security. I like their support for the 1st amendment and the idea of an armed community of faceless leigons coming together for ...what some would say....is the greater good. Some would say the idea is romantic.
So i'm on here looking for knowledge, direction, and community.
     Now, I'm not one of those people this site is full of,... the " teach me
to be a hacker" type.... that's not me. I've been researching... you
could say... for about 3 or more years. I've spawned 2 remote shells in my
existence, can crack wep like a brittle egg, and a few wpa2's too. But i
came to the conclusion that i need to learn code or programming to know
anything in this field. So I've been learning the syntax of python, and
did a few cool little console programs of math problems that determine the "per square inch streingth" of wire. I work, for now, in a shitty go-no-where dead end wire shop. My plan is to go back to school for object oriented programming. Can anyone tell me how that field is to work in?
    But my problem is this, i need a direction to go from here. is python a good language to start with?
Is there any reading i absolutely SHOULD have under my belt? Blogs? Books?
Should i set up a server to learn how to break into it?
    I need a mentor. A sense'. I dont need my hand held throughout every step, but pointers would help. I dont want to know how to do it. I want to know FUNDIMENTALLY how everything is working under the hood, you know? And also, i want to know how to do it lol. Hopefully talk to you guys soon.

hi guys,

I got a question in mind,this question came as a result of debate between my friends,

while we are discussing about privilege escalation one of my friend said
"say if we have backdoor access with limited privileges to a
web-server,we could have gain root access by uploading a vulnerable
application and exploit it to become a root"

but another one saying that "no ,even if you exploit the bug you can
only get the privilege of the current user,not the root privilege" .

i am not sure which one is correct,so tought of asking here

I'm busy learning and testing SQL injections with a PostgreSQL backend with multiple DB's. I'm using SQLMAP but can only enumerate 1 DB and it always defaults to public? Is there a way of enumerating all the DB's?

hi guys,
here is challenge i got from my friend,i just want to know there is a solution available for this task,

when i enter a number it should display it's equivalent binary number like for 2 = 0010 3=0011,
but the important restriction is "IT SHOULD NOT USE/INVOKE MULTIPLICATION OR DIVISION OF ANY FORM" inside the computer.

is there a solution possible ?

if any one has one please post here...
