is there any book out the for understanding browser internals ?
as the title says is there any books available for understanding internal working of browser ?
i am much interested in understanding how browsers work ?(in detail) what are the
security features out there, how they are implemented and all..
as far as i had searched i couldn't find any thing.
so decided to ask here,if you have any recommendations please post here :)
i would maybe look at the sysinternals website. those guys really seem to know the inner workings of OS systems and structure (albeit Windows mainly)
No it isn't about OS internals ,i am looking for browser internals:)
well, i know that both those gentlemen know a hell of alot about IE and tracing various crashes that have occured with it using WinDBG. i am sure they know about the inner workings of Chrome as well
not sure about any books, but some of the most popular browsers are open source, and i'm sure they'll be documented to some level. you should check out some of the open source projects developer wikis-and-what-not. they'll almost certainly have public source-control too, so you could follow their changes and study into how they implemented a security patch.
Quite high level, but may be of use:
Remember, Firefox is opensource, so you can find out about its internals very easily.
You can find and Read RFC document about HTTP Protocol
