the ultimate in annonymity?
  • i have discussed this with a few people before, though it is damn hard to accomplish. has anyone ever set up and hacked through a GRE tunnel? i have only heard it mentioned a few times and have been told it is very hard to do since so many things have to be just right. for me, this is the ultimate cloak. you are tunneling all data and not seen by anyone from beginning to end (especially if you control the router fully). has it ever been done by anyone here?

    Not tried, however I've heard of GRE tunneling previously and had it mentioned to me about areas of abuse... wish I had cisco hardware to try it.
  • Try Hot Spot shield. IT is best and works for my anonymity
  • i know this is an old post but this sparked my interest since i have access to a few cisco devices im looking into it now and will update this if i get it done

    Ultimate anonymity = finding and hacking a local wifi network and using that.
  • anonymizer.ru its russian site but Could not register as Idont understand Russian :p

    I am currently using IPRIVO but its UK site, so can give out your logs. Dont use if you are trying to hack.

    TOR and I2P are other options available, but I dont know how to use them

    Please keep this post going as we need to know more about anonymizers

    TOR can be easily bypassed though i saw an article a while back by someone that owned some TOR nodes.

  • @OP i assume you're talking about GRE over IPsec tunnels; because GRE sends the key, if one is present, in the header plain text. im still working on researching how well it all works out though seems like a good source for VPN

    I'm sorry guys, but nothing will ever provide more anonymity than controlling a route to your target.

    Erase the route #YouDontExist
    while( !(succeed = try() ) );

    It'd be more helpful if you could show this to us in a more concrete manner :)

    I wish I could, but, GRE tunneling is so hard to perform these days :(

    Whether in this way have to delete some logs as forensic experts to determine that the attack was using that computer?

    Using a wireless network is not the safest, using a wlan without some sort of tunneling would almost surely lead them back to the wlan (if they wanted to hunt you down and find you that is). Issues with the wlan idea are obvious ones to anyone who knows networking, mac addresses, ip addresses, hostnames and even usernames can be logged by the admin of a wireless network and on the router (if it supports it). All of the above can be spoofed or altered but whilst thinking about this using a wlan itself is more dangerous than just what can be logged. You're in an internet cafe... they most likely have cctv (even if you don't see it - assume its there). Using your neighbours network? well if you do and you've cracked their password to use it then the police will know there is someone local who can and has done it. They'll just need to warrant to seize your kit (depending on your countries laws). Process of elimination would narrow it down - innocent neighbours will surrender their hard drives and other hardware to prove its not them. Also be sensible about who you pick to hack into... police turning up to a grannies house that has wifi will know it's not her - so if your neighbour's old enough to suffer from incontinence then forget it and look further afield.
