    Well the sec+ is done online isnt it? I've been offered it and i'd have to sit it at a centre. You'd get mock tests and past questions but not sure about the actual exams. I was sent forms to say i wouldn't discuss the content on N+

    I wish I still had my study material but I do not. The PassForSure stuff is excellent if you can find a crack of it. But make sure you get the right study material for the right version of the test.

    If you're looking to buy a book I highly recommend "CompTIA Security+ 2008 In Depth"

    Some major topics hit on the test:
    [list]
    [*]PKI <---- HUUUUGE part of the test[/*:m]
    [*]Cryptography <---- Almost as huge as PKI[/*:m]
    [*]Radius/Tacacs/Kerberos[/*:m]
    [*]Various Services and what ports they use (i.e. what ports does SNMP cover?)[/*:m]
    [*]VERY BASIC concepts of miscellanious attacks[/*:m]
    [*]Types of viruses[/*:m]
    [*]Procedures and Policies <---- Another huge part of the test[/*:m][/list:u]

    That's about it for the really hard hitting material.

    Also, they touch on what nmap and wireshark do, but they were probably only given one question each on the test if memory serves me right.

    It would probably be in your best interest to not mention nmap's capabilities with nse scripts, because the teacher will probably look at you in disbelief.

    Also, Cain and Abel for the test is specifically a packet analyzer, not a password cracker. From my experience in the class I took, you will be able to tell if there's another hacker in the class. Also, the teachers are going to try and please their egos by telling you how much they can do because of things they learned while teaching in the class. It was amazing seeing how out of touch with reality my teacher was.

    In all reality, when you finally decipher through all the bullshit they try to teach you, the areas I've told you of are the hardest ones they hit on version JY-S10 I think it was...idk something like that.

    I still have my book so I'll repost after work with all of the domains covered in it.
    while( !(succeed = try() ) );

    Yea, I found that part the most tedious, and yes, it is a large part of the test.
