Shoutbox's normally seem to decrease the posting activity, as people get distracted by it.

Besides, we have an IRC channel, located here.

Your IRC, I've observed, usually has only 6 - 8 people online. If shoutboxes decrese posting activity, then are you saying some posts here actually are only "shoutbox quality"?

Secondly, I'd suggest you promote your IRC to have more activity, if you're going to point people to it for shouts.

6-8 people online or not, iExploit never normally has more than 5-6 people online on the forum anyway. We're not going to add a shoutbox, it has been discussed before by the admin team.

Well, just another simple idea: Alternative color schemes. Sure some people like green, but others may want it different. So providing different color schemes for the theme here might be a good idea.

The alternative colours schemes is a good idea i will start working on it now :).

Also for shoutbox if we can find an IRC - shoutbox that we can put it i will definately add that.
As for normal shoutbox we may indeed add that as the reason we didnt use it in the past because it wasnt used much but i think it may be used more now.

The forum is quite good and now we need more people here. We have everyday max 30 users who were online. I have a simple suggestion to improve our daily online.
To upload a video on YouTube supporting the site. Maybe this help the forum.
So if someone upload a video for the site will get ''Video Supporter'' award.

I can also bump the recruitment thread at HF (link to thread: http://www.hackforums.net/showthread.ph ... 96&page=16) and accept only people who are willing to learn and share.

I just had a quick look at that thread and the last application was:

    Name: James
    Age: 15
Hacking Skills: Botnets RAT servers Keyloggers and Phishing
    Coding Skills: Java and JavaScript
What you can bring to the crew: I know my way around Rats and working close with botnets and desktop phishing as a method of infecting victims i got 79 victims in 8 hours on cybergate using a botnet to spread servers. I am more then happy to teach the members of the team these skills and i am always happy to lend a hand to a fellow member.

Of course, I won't accept applications like this. ;)

I know most members at HF are only interested in using rats and infecting just to play with their victims (lol) but I will try to avoid accepting members like this.

Do you think it's a good idea?

That topic was created when iExploit had just started so by making a recruitment thread we could get more members. Me and Xinapse were accepting new members but then we stopped but it can be useful if we want more members, just a bump should do the job :P

For a start he isn't skilled at anything. The examples Xin gave were SQLi or rooting. Botnets, rats and phishing are not what we want. I've no problem with noobs joining the forum, if they're prepared to learn decent respectful skills. Not something that every man and his dog with an hour's worth of experience writes a 'ultimate noob' tutorial on. I think Xinapse needs to make it more clear. He can edit his posts so it won't be difficult.

Makes me weep for humanity reading some peoples applications lol.

Every forum at programming section has more threads at Source Code/Tutorials subforum than the main forum. So I suggest you creating a "General Discussion" subforum and move all the threads there and then move the threads from Source Code/Tutorials subforum to the main forum and then delete it. What do you think? :)
