    Unfortunately we were down for about 15 hours, our DNS Server crashed possibly due to an exploit as today a new set of updates were available for our DNS Server, so it is all fixed now and should be smooth running.

    I have a feeling it was d4rk. He was neg repped for leaching and he had a 30% warning.

    Some people believe in hacking methods staying between the people who know them, not public knowledge. Others just can't tolerate rules, to the point where they keep pushing our generosity and continues to break them. Eitherway it's pathetic I think.

    Nice work Xinapse, if they think they can take iExploit down, they've got another thing coming. Just shows how much skids can fail sometimes.

    From what Xinapse has said it could have been an attack, however it could have quite easily been a simple dns issue. I don't think darkgt4 or the forum he is part of has taken the website down previously, as far as I know. Others have.

    Please note that iExploit has had to move hosts quite a few times in the past, we've been on 2 different VPS's in the course of about 2-4 months which ultimately lead to downtime of doing that.

    Generally iExploit hasn't actually been taken down, we've had issues with hosts but we've never been hacked as such. DDoS attacks are one of the main forms used to take down sites, and we have a pretty decent firewall in place.

    We've only ever been hacked once, that was when we were with Vuzehosting, they got in through SQLi on shared hosting site and rooted the server

    There wasnt much we could have done about that , we have never been hacked as a result of our applications, only DDosed.

    ...and unless you own the upsteam provider pipe and control it, there is NOTHING you can do to prevent a DDOS attack (nor can anyone else)
