    Just finished downloading backtrack 4. Are there any tutorials i can use for hacking and doing stuff on it? And also is it better than windows 7, if not i will install it on my laptop

    Best free solution would be to download virtualbox from virtualbox.org (i think). You can use a live disc or usb however a virtual machine allows you to use windows 7 while accessing bt4 from within win7.

    Not better than windows 7 but about any kde linux distro is if your looking for both looks and stability

    I've found KDE when it stays stable to be amazing but when it goes wrong it completely F's up. I know a few people who've had similar experiences with it. I'd still pick it over gnome.

    Dont use it as a main OS thats not what its meant for, its not secure enough for every day use. As regards tutorials, just google the name of the tools you wanna learn how to use theres loads of tuts

    I'm pretty used to Gnome, although KDE does look nice I'll have to get into it a bit, and not to get off subject do you know of a way to get it to devid the screen like win7 does? ie: put a window to the right and one to the left and they resize to split down the screen? I have a very large monitor and its convient for me to do that in windows it'd be nice to have in linux too

    1) It is not an OS. It is a security distro based of the Linux kernel.

    2) Nothing really. It just has a bunch of pre installed tools to make your life easier with pen testing. I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use though.

    I would hope everyone who knows a certain amount would say the same. Still get surprised by the amount who do use it as a main OS.
