What got you into Hacking - Please post your answer! :D

Il start off, i got into hacking 4 years ago after watching the movie "Hackers" the 1995 movie with Ang Jolie, so i managed to find some good forums teaching me proper hacking ! Luckily i didnt fall into RATs or botnets just yet, or i would have ended up like 90% of HF! Thats my story!

  • Been interested in computers since a young age...around 6 or 7. I am currently 16, and have been "hacking" since 10. Tinkering with software/hardware, programming in HTML, PHP, and a little C++ at the age of 11. By age 13 I was actually doing the Black-Hat cracking stuff, Reverse Engineering, writing some basic exploits in C/C++, and then at 14 did my first big crack. (PM me for details) By now, I am even more experienced and am trying to specialise in exploit development/Reverse Engineering. :D

in all honesty, it was simply because i am very inquisitive and i question everything. hacking seemed like the perfect harmonization of the 2

my first actual interest in "hacking" came when i was in some chat room long ago (late 90s?) called Mplayer and i met someone who introduced me to the wonderful world of packets and mainly the protocol SNMP. when i saw what that protocol could do simply on it's own, i was hooked! also i like to be able to break something and put it back together (i would fall into the white hat category but i HATE those labels)

basically hacking for me is like what the fictional Macgyver does on his tv show (if you have seen it, you'll understand the correlation) best example i could ever give

I needed to get to a website that the school blocked and it just evolved from there
(not that I consider using a public proxy a hack)
