Hamster & Ferret
  • I'm trying to learn how to use hamster and ferret on a Windows 7 system. With linux, I know I'd use ifconfig to find the adapter. How do I do this on windows? I looked through ipconfig /all and couldn't see anything relevant.

    Thanks for your help.

    Device Manager -> Network Adapters

    It will list any/all network adapters you have on your computer, whether it's part of the chipset or plugged in via usb. Device Manager knows all that is hardware....for windows.
    while( !(succeed = try() ) );
  • It tells me I have a Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card on PCI Bus 14, Device 0,Function 0.

    This is what I found out from ipconfig /all. What do I put in to the adapter menu?

    I realize that, but I'm not around my linux box.

    Anyone know what I put into the adapter menu?

    cygwin would be your best option without a virtual machine.
  • Hadn't thought of that for Hamster. Thanks - good idea.
