My newest fluxbox setup. I couldn't get awesome working 100% so I think I'm going to stick with fluxbox.

Heh well you can easily change the transparency in .Xdefaults I like it how it is though.

Nice conky config mind pasting it here? Also thats a nice vulnerability addon to it ;)

Also is that the new version of Ubuntu(10.10) ?
I'd ditch gnome if I were you ;P

I'll be switching it to fluxbox I think, yep 10.10, and it's two conky scripts ;) To actually get the rss and all the configs working i've got 4 scripts: conky for the top_right thin column, another for the short fat column, a perl script for rss feeds and a bash script to start the conky's.

    I'll post the configs later

EDIT: Sorry two perl scripts, one for each of the rss feeds.

    RocketDock

By default it's in the centre at the bottom, however change the config and you can have it wherever you want.

Yeah it's not too bad, I prefer obssesively clean desktops. Some tools you might check out if you want to customise windows environments:

Fences - Great for organising files/shortcuts.
Rainmeter - Excellent for desktop customising, however you've got to spend a lot of time coding. It might be too hard for the average user.

How do you like my new Awesome config? I'm probably gonna stick with Awesome now since I got fake transparency working. Too bad it's not true transparency :/

And a clean with archey3 running:

Now I need to do a bit more configuration to make it look better. Plus I'm torn over backgrounds. What do you guys think of these?:

@chronic: I like the green hexagon pattern, would make for nice neon green customising to the distro ;) Hackers style :P. Having said that your a hardcore *nix fan so the last may be better for you. It's nice shading. Don't like the wolf background, see too many old women with similar patterns on jumpers tbh lol.

@2good4u: Don't worry I gave up on rainmeter when I couldn't be bothered to code it. It's the windows version of conky which is linux based. I prefer linux so it was only natural i'd spend more time on conky code.

Alright I've got it setup. It does look better than the wolf lol.

Quite a lot but less than it actually was. At first I installed kde but then moved to Fluxbox. After getting transparency working I moved back to Awesome. And from there I just had to edit my rc.lua(the awesome config file) and add some menus and such. Also I have a script that runs and rotates backgrounds every 5 minutes. I have a whole directory with awesome wallpapers.
