Tiger scanning your system
  • [Intro]
This is a very short guide on scanning your *Nix system with Tiger. Tiger is a powerful detection system that checks your system for backdoors, rootkits, possible security holes and more.

    [Installing]
    To install tiger, just type

    sudo aptitude install tiger

Once that's done you should have tiger on your system.

    [Running]
To run tiger and scan your system, type:

    Tiger -H

This will compile everything into a nice neat HTML file for your viewing.

    [Viewing]
The scan is quite extensive and searches every last security hole in your system. The log files can be pretty large but don't worry, you should really only scroll through things that say WARN, but PAY ATTENTION.... You don't wanna get screwed over.
