I see all the Hacking Dev Team roles are Web based. Will there be any offline challenges? Reverse engineering and such?

Without going off-topic I think the problem with offline challenges is that they can't be 'scored' in the same way the online ones are. Whereas the scores will be automatically added to a highscores list the offline would have to be manually scored by someone. It could be done if committed people really want such challenges.

The wargaming network isnt necessarily 'web' based, it can be any service or protocol.

i don't quite understand what these 'challenges' are, or how they are scored, but an offline 'challenge' (i'm guessing what i mean by that) can be 'scored' by a produced output. take project euler and other online based challenge sites as an example. might be something to think about, ie. simple boxes online to enter 'answers' to the 'challenges'. forgive me if i'm just misunderstanding the whole concept.

AS Xinapse said, we can set up challenges such as CrackMe. It's depended on us(all of iExploit members) and the time for when those challenges will be implemented.

  • I'm not much of a big fan of Web challenges, but if we have wargames where users SSH to a box and attempt challenges I'll help no doubt.

Me and Xinapse think it would be good to have you as a developer, added to the group, you can now view the private forum.

I have created some Javascript challenges ;) I can PM you the source code, so you can take a look if I'm good enough to get into the dev team ;)

I also wanna help with SSH or hamachi wargames (really don't have a clue on how to set up these challenges, but I really wanna learn)

Glad you checked out the group x3n0n, I'll let Xinapse get back to you about entry to the team when he's checked out your coding :)

The hamachi wargames will definitely be worth sticking about for when they get set up.

  • Hi guys sounds interesting, would be good to get involved, although im not a confident programmer/coder, but would be up for lending a hand as all exposure is good experience. Only just getting my head around Zend but keen to learn. Starting to think i should have stuck with computer science at uni rather then moving to multimedia...
