Many people when they hack the go through the admin control panel meaning that there ip is monitored and recorded but they dont bother erasing there tracks. Well here is a very simple tutorial that will help you clear your tracks if you go through the admin cpanel.

    You will need the following:
    - Shell (I use C99)

So the easiest way to erase your tracks i have found is to use the shell as it give you easy access to files that would otherwise be harder to get to.

    1) Enter the shell, you can do this by finding the directory and the typing the name e.g. www.shelledsite.org/uploads/c99.php

    2) Go to the root Directory, by default the c99 shell does no go root but it does get you very close. c99 is set to take you to the public files folder and so at the top of the files list there will be an arrow to take you up a directory. Once you click that you will be in the root directory.

    3) In the root directory look for a file called last login, or login history, something along those lines. Depending on if it only records the last login or all logins the file size will be very small or very big. Usually it will be 1B. Hardly anything.

    4) Next click Edit and a new c99 page will come up, and with in this folder you will find you IP when you entered through the cpanel. You can either remove this and delete your tracks or add a different IP and run the risk of someone else getting in trouble.

And that is how you can keep yourself out of trouble with web hacking, this method can be better than proxy's as it limits how they trace back to you.

    Hope you enjoyed.
