Bad internet connection.

My neighbours WiFi I am using right now is terrible, I am constantly disconnected from it, it takes quite a while to load any webpage.
Even though I am using the alfa AWUS036NH wireless card which gives me two bars of signal it's still a bad connection.

What I was thinking was that my alfa card's range is good enough to send data to the access point without problems but the access point was too weak to send data back without problems.

What do you think this could be? I was hoping for decent internet connection but it's like dongle speed.

The first question would be why are you using your neighbor's wifi? Well, there are a few things to consider:
    1. Do you have good Line of Sight?
    2. Are there any objects that can cause reflection, refraction, absorption, diffraction, scattering, etc. of radio waves from both your device or the router in question?
    3. Is the overlap good enough? (Probably around 80%)

And a few more. Just try answering these things and maybe you can get the answer to your question.

You could always go round and ask your neighbour to reset the router...

Most likely the walls and objects in between. Have your alfa card by a window pointing towards it.

Google pringle cantenna or aluminium cantenna to enhance your signal.
