I dont use a antivirus, they all annoy me :-/
I dont even use a firewall
The only th[align=left]ing i have for protection is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
    It is very good!

    Hello,

I strongly recommend you use at least an anti virus, how do they "annoy" you?

Sometimes they come up with alerts, but you can set them up to be less annoying. I use Avast! Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Ad aware SE personal & Malwarebytes anti malware and I don't get annoying alerts from them.

The best part is, all the above mentioned are free.

If you want I can guide you more and help you for free via teamviewer.

PM me if you want some help :)

    Regards,
    George, Firewire Security Admin.

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Very good program. Scans for where the virus has most likely hidden itself. Using quick scan. Or full scan is a normal full scan.

I hate AVs like that. But they normally slow down the computer etc. If there is any that don't slow it down too much i'll probs get. :P

Gotta go with Avast it's excellent and free.

With Avast I also have installed, but not active [just for scans and anti-malware]:
    Malwarebytes
    Spybot S&D
    Runalyze
    Rootalyzer

I recommend checking out the last two, similar features to Hijackthis but Runalyze has some great extra features. It's also done by the same people as Spybot I think [Safer Networking].

Avira for sure. I love this anti-virus.
Only just started running an anti virus 2 weeks ago after about a year of not (never once got a virus too).

When or if I used Windows I Used Eset's NOD32 AV.
You can find free Serials That Work here.--->http://nod325.com/
    +
It comes with a free 1 month of FULL use.

They claim to have not missed a virus definition in over 5 years or something but in all honesty (who knows true that is/How well that goes..).

I use Avast also, seems to have a decent detection rate with few false positives. Plus, it is nice that you can turn off all shields with just a right click on the tray icon.
