Today (9/04/2010) we have reached the 200 member mark for Firewire Security. I know 200 members is nothing special, but I would just like to remind others what we've been through to get here.
We opened on March 6th 2010. To get here me and the other staff have been through quite a lot, DDoS attacks, school & work, other projects, hosting problems. As you may of noticed Firewire has been down for round about 2-3 days since we opened due the fact that the host was performing maintaince, after that, me and Xinapse were discussing what to do, should we move hosts, buy a VPS, dedicated server or what, but in the end, we decided to stay where we are as once the maintaince was done, the site's uptime has risen.
You may be expecting Xinapse to write this announcement as he has the board Admin/Owner, however, I know how busy he is with other jobs, giving lessons,etc, so I took the courtesy to do it for him.
Now then, as I said to start with, 200 members isn't a big milestone, so I personally am not offering any rewards, however when we reach 1000 members (which should be around July if my math is correct) I will be offering rewards, to qualify for a reward, you must have the following:
- 500+ posts - 1 Month+ membership. - At least 4 weeks+ online. - Have good quality theads and posts. - Be respected and liked around the community.
I think we should have 3 members able to qualify for this, however my worry is we may not get someone with 500+ posts,etc.
Asuming we have 3 members, a poll will then run for 10 (ten) days. Only members, staff & upgraded users can vote & the person voting must have 10 or more posts with at least 1 week membership for the vote to count. The person who recieves the most votes, quite simply,wins!
