Well, i've started work on coding a new game, yes based on hacking... it'll be similar to hackerforever. I'm coding it FROM SCRATCH, so bare with me on it. Just thought i'd ask your opinions and see what kinda things you like and dislike about games like hackerforever?
Me and d0wngrade are in development/just starting a game we should work together, we were going to make it webbased like html/php/javascript etc what were you thinking of doing it in? Basically we wanted multiplayer support.
In relation to thread - Slavehack best for fun of hacking people etc, but lacks the ranking up and experience fun. - Hackerforever gets VERY boring after a while, requires too much grinding, and big clans dominate too much.
Anyway i would love to get involved in this project, unfortunately i dont know what programming language we have in common.
Also just noticed your sig is out of date, new irc is evilzone.org :)
Actual page is being done in html to match my site (at the moment as i'm looking to setup it's down domain if i get it done) and scripting/multi-player support is going to be done in perl-cgi. I'm using MySQL for the database, gonna be challenging.
Getting the game started shouldn't be too hard howeve the multiplayer aspect will be somewhat trickier.
Lol more concerned with the mysql side of things at the moment and linking it all together... i'm sure it'll be ok though. Don't worry i'll eventually learn php :P
Taken the best part of like FOREVER tonight but I have the register system coded, very basic idea of the database layout for the game, working on the login script and the user 'profile' page. ;) You guys are gonna love it when it's done ;)
