/etc directory rewrites itself after reboot...

    Just wondering if anyone knows the possible causes of this ^...

    Every file i change in /etc after reboot gets changed back :S, I've decided to reboot and see if that sorts it, hopefully it will. But just thought i'd see if you guys knew of possible causes

    No idea never heard of that before, is it the whole /etc/ or just hosts?

    I've googled and seen it happen to hosts but it was a lot of files in /etc. I'm hope its not a problem with the partitions etc not mounting properly or something.

    Have you actually installed your OS or is it a livecd

    Debian 5.0 64bit... the host has basically said hire third party management as its an unmanaged server... helpful.
