"Hacking Skill" Fail!

    God I think I understand where chronic's skid-rage comes from now! I've been reading through the applications for a group on SF and oh my god!

    Some examples of the level of fail in this supposed elite group...

    Hacking Skills: I'm pretty advanced, I currently have my own private FUD RAT, and I'm pretty experienced with botnets too.


    Please tell me he's joking!!


    Hacking Skills: RATs/KEYLOGGERs/STEALERs/etc. I have Mybb knowlege and a beginner coder..



    Since when is mybb hacking software??

    Hacking Skills: Skills in infection removal, white-hat hacking, and has been deep into black-hatting for a short while. Also experience in Visual Basic coding, and slight involvement in C#.



    For the love of god your in the HJT team! And yes guys... this members had a one night stand with a programming language.


    Hacking Skills: Rat/iStealer spreading, Web mastering, SEO optimization, Basic Languages C & Visual Basic, Oracle SQL, MySQL, HTML Editing, PHP editing, speed & accuracy.



    meh, web mastering is hacking? SEO wtf? meh coding's important, databases can be, web coding can be, speed & accuracy... at what? EVERYthing? I highly doubt it.

    I could go on and on and on! Just thought I'd give you guys a giggle/rant lol.

    Yea I know. The sad part is, if these people actually learned the true meaning of hacking and actually decided to learn they could one day be great. Too late for them though.

    This will divide people bigtime, but to be a hacker it's all about what's upstairs. You need to have a certain minsset, a curiosity, a want to explore. That's not something you can learn, it's there from birth or not. People doing it cos it's 'cool', 'l33t' or whatever other BS they come up with is crap.

    I don't class myself as a hacker, however I see myself as having what it takes to be one, same for certain people I know through iE and HF. They may not have all the skills but they have the grounding to build on and then it's there. People can't after years of wanting to be a dentist or something suddenly pick up a book on hacking and then decide they're a hacker. Being able to hack isn't the same as being a hacker. That't like me being able to stitch up wounds however itd be bullshit to call myself a surgeon and operate on people. Learning to RAT etc is what i'd call hacking (very loosely), however someone who wants to be a real hacker would graduate from rats and stealers very quickly in the aim of learning more and something hardcore like real exploiting.

    Just my opinion, can't be bothered typing anymore :P

    Woot im a hacker? I can make whm accounts does that make me even a bigger hacker? I can code a python calculator. RAT/STEALERS/BOTNETS lol. When i joined hf i saw hacking forum and looked for 2 days to find something about metasploit. Never found anything i went wow fail.

    Could not have said it better myself. Great explanation that's pretty much how I feel too. Ever since I was little I've been fascinated with taking random things apart(and then getting yelled at by my mom). Then I got introduced to computers at age 8 and ever since then I've been fascinated with those too. And I've tried other things than computer security as a hobby. Guitar, boxing, lacrosse etc. Always I end up coming back to computers. Guess it's one of the things I'm good at :D

    It needed saying lol. Yeah same, I work in security on odd jobs and do martial arts but apart from that computers FTW. I'll never get bored or tired of computers.

    99% of applications there are just like that. skills: rats,keyloggers,stealers,crypters,binders or sometimes bLinders if the hacker applying has more skill, social engineering. a recent application i saw was like that: "i'm a white hat. i never hacked and i will never hack. i don't like infecting people." pff 2 fails in one sentence.

    Yeah unfortunately I was fairly good at it and got loads of PMs on a daily basis asking me to set them up. Hence why I changed my username and avoided posting in the rats forum lol.

    If I was hardcore blackhat i'd hold my head in shame if thats the level ex-blackhats are at today. All he took from his years of blackhat learning was how to setup a keylogger... years of learning or maybe years of being out of the womb!

    setting up up a keylogger isn't as easy as it looks. you should know where you must put your email, your password, how to choose your settings, and how to click the build button. :P
