I know things like Cisco exams have to be retaken every few years but then apparently the Comptia ones last for a lifetime, anyone know which ones do not need to be recertified?

...There's a catch with the Comptia ones though and I found this out while studying for the A+ and N+, they last forever, however employer's sometimes ask to see which exams you've sat because the old ones were easy and the new ones are a bit harder and more relevant to current technologies.

You asking about IT certs in general or INFOSEC certs? Have you looked at the MS certs?

If your looking for basic skills certs then Comptia A+ probably along with the ones you've mentioned. If you have a bit of on the job experience then Network+ certificate too. If you go to a University that's a CISCO academy then you can do the CCNA (or other cisco certs) alongside your course I believe. So it's worth checking.
