ok i have a atleast 6 computers connected through my home network and 2 of them are connected through WLAN. I have been trying to hack into my own WLAN but without much of a success.
SSID of my wlan is WLAN
now i been trying to find a best way to hack it. I have a backtrack latest version on USB i boot from it. I changed my WLAN security to WEP and i easily hacked it without any problem with aircrack-ng but hackin wpa2 without any success. I getr handshake and everything but when i run my dictionary or password lit nothing comes. So i know that my password isnt on the list. Then i tried rainbow table with cowpatty still didnt work. Now i want to create my own rainbow tables. Can anyone tell me what software is best to create WPA2 rainbow tables for WLAN ( essid)
plus if cowpatty isnt the good way to hack what is the good way? i tried with pyrit but i didnt really understood it so can anyone help me with that? offcourse its all for security purposes and i am doing this with my own network but i want to test its limit because the area where i live is very open and my home network where 6 computers are attached to it all the time is like a invitation for hackers so i really want to test it all hardcore.
If you want to hack >WPA use aircrack-ng. personally I don't bother unless its absolutely necessary. If you get the name in a list then it would probably take hours to crack it with even with a multiple cpu-system if not days depending on the size of the list..
