So i made an image hosting HTML/CSS template but as i quite liked it i decided to turn it into a full site. Im planning to add a number of features to the site but for now you can see the basics of it at -> http://gavii.com

Let me know what you think and how i could improve it, all suggestions are welcomed. Im gonna add more content to the index but haven't got around to it yet.

So iv been fairly good with web languages for a while now but iv only just realised how much money there is in selling wordpress templates so i started going with it. So far this is what iv made and if i can get some thought i would be very thankful.

1. Introduction into the world of HTML

So I'm going to be making step by step tutorials for learning HTML, its going to start off very basic then move to more advanced so i will number each tutorial so you can follow along. Then when I'm done with HTML, I will move on to teaching PHP.

Now first off what is HTML?
HTML stands for "Hyper Text Markup Language", the common misconception is that some people think HTML is a programming language but they would be wrong. Its considered a "Markup Language"

HTML Tags
So HTML tags can be called Markup Tags but its just easier to flow with when you call them HTML Tags.
HTML Tags are keywords surrounded by brackets such as <>
And each tag has a starting and ending tag
EX

<b>In HTML this would show up as bold text</b>
<u>This text would be underlined</u>
<i>This text would be italic>/i>

All closing tags have / before the keyword
EX

<keyword></keyword>

Now starting your web page.
All HTML pages (if made correctly) will have the at the top of the source before any other code, and at the end after all the code.

The websites source and other tags/scripts go here
</html>

Now the keyword describes web page. And i will go into detail in a later tutorial on what you would add after that tag. And usually following you will see which describes the visible content of the website.
Now adding what we've learned so far into a starting page.

So iv been working on this script for a while after i made a much more basic version of this. As far as chat rooms go this is very basic compared to others out there but im still quite impressed with it. Eventually i want this to become like a community project where people can contribute whatever they want.

I also plan to create an admin panel where the admin can manage users, banned words etc.

Is made with a combination of Javascript - including jQuery & PHP

Im having a few issues which are listed below but heres and image of what i have so far.

- textarea newline, if i add a newline in the textarea it doesn't in the chat as there is no

- run script when page closes.

So yer i was bored tonight so i decided to make a fairly simple CSS template. It is designed to be for the more underground sites due to it's dark nature. The colour scheme i chose was orange and deep deep grey. Also This template has a navigation where the back changes when mouse over.

I've got an unmanaged VPS for my site and want to know what the best SSH program is, I tried PuTTY, but I didn't like it, it's in BETA/RC and it wouldn't perform commands some times, just frooze.

I would like freeware software that's not in BETA/RC stage, stable would be good.

I found out today that on one of the website's I'm working with, some other random wordpress website is copying all the content and ranking ahead of this site in Google for it's own content!!! Don't you just hate that?

The practical business side of me says I should forget about it... it's probably more cost effective just to rewrite the content. But the other side of me says something different.

Anyone out there have any suggestions or is anyone willing to offer me some help?

Upgraded my personal VPS

Well some of you may know I had a VPS, which to be honest needed upgrading and I needed better specs... So now for a small amount more have a new vps check it out:

Setting up a server(Xubuntu)

Well I decided to make this quick guide for anybody wanting to make a web server from a spare computer.

Step 1: Install Xubuntu, It comes with some critical files you will need. You can use another Linux distro but it requires a bit more work installing samba.

Step 2: Now to set up sharing. Install samba. You can either do that by using aptitude on the terminal, or you can use synaptic package manager.

Step 3: Change directory to /etc/samba
open smb.conf in either gedit or nano and replace everything in the file with this:

Step 6: Now install the following:

Open terminal and type

vncpasswd ~/.vnc/passwd

Now set the port:

echo 1337 > ~/.vnc/port

Now open /usr/local/bin/sharex11vnc
and replace everything with this:

Now change the permissions through the terminal:

Now go to applications>settings>Autostart applications and add this:
sharex11vnc

Now you should have your server pretty much up. To connect you SSH into it with a program like putty. And you can also add new programs such as apache and php to enhance your server.

NOTE: This isn't the first guide of how to do this, there are many out there. And this isn't the best server out there but it'll do if you want a quick one.
